Downstairs Studios started in 1998, but has been around in one form or another since 1987, making films.
Projects have included short films, animations, documentaries, wedding videos, birthday videos, tributes, music videos, parodies and education videos.
With each project, Downstairs Studios aims to expand on the techniques and concepts used in the previous projects, always striving for better and more challenging work.
Downstairs Studios recently created a tribute to the music video for Vogue by Madonna, after having great success with tributes to Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice (entitled Boom! A Tribute to a Tribute to Queen) and In the Navy by Village People (entitled I'm Afraid of Water! A Tribute to the Macho Seamen of the YMCA). Both these music videos were screened nationally on Australia's Funniest Home Videos.
On 13 May 2006, we won the National Video Test with Vogue! See the full version here!
Being a non-professional outfit, Downstairs Studios works with very small budgets but with an eye for detail, replacing money with extra time to achieve the right look.
